80181 1/35 Fieseler Fi-156 C-3/TROP Storch
The Fieseler Fi 156 Storch (Stork) was a small German liaison plane built before and during WWII. It was unique and specifically designed to take off and land in twice its own length. It has the appearance of a long-legged big-winged bird which resulted in its nickname - Storch (Crane). It was widely used by the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe as an air taxi for high ranking officers, reconnaissance, and as an air ambulance. It was produced in A, C and D versions. It continued to be manufactured in other countries into the 50s for the private market.
It is still known for its excellent STOL (short takeoff and landing) performance and low stall speed of 50km/h (31 mph).
